Ziraat Bank

Challenge

The largest and oldest bank in Turkey, with over 1,700 branches, Ziraat Bank faced several security challenges with its offsite ATMs. The ATMs were protected by various low- security locks with unique swan keys, which forced the security employees to carry around hundreds of different keys. This situation created a major problem with key loss, since each lost key meant an urgent, full cylinder replacement had to take place, followed by key replacement for all workers authorized to access that ATM. This in turn compromised the organization’s time and costs efficiency efforts. Audit trail was also an important addition to Ziraat Bank’s security, enabling a full tractability of where and by whom each key was used, and who and when tried to access the cylinders mounted on the ATMs.

Solution

Ziraat Bank chose the MTL^™CLIQ^® electro-mechanical access control system. MTL^™CLIQ^® is based on Mul-T-Lock’s high security cylinder platforms, offering a wide range of locking solutions, as well as the experience and knowledge required for developing a tailormade solution when needed.

In Ziraat Bank case, a unique hardened cylinder protector was developed and installed in each of the offsite ATMs. MTL^™CLIQ^® cylinders water and dust resistance feature meets the highest standards, making the cylinders suitable for external use, compliable with high demands of challenging environmental conditions. 

In combination with the highly resilient CLIQ keys which are well adjusted for field end users, MTL^™CLIQ^® fulfills all of Ziraat Bank requirements and challenges.

Ziraat Bank MTL^™CLIQ^® system is managed via a Cloud-based platform with the CLIQ Web-Manager, enabling the system administrators to control and update the user’s authorization and to retrieve the audit from the cylinder and keys. Being easily scalable and flexible, CLIQ is providing the option to either access all the authorized ATMs with one MTL^™CLIQ^® key, or to create multiple master key systems according to geographic areas.
