Northumberland’s first trade representative of the Master Locksmith Association, Bradley’s Master Locksmiths, has installed the Mul-T-Lock MVP1000 on a work van, setting a new standard for vehicle security within the locksmithing community.
Bradley’s Master Locksmiths chose the MVP1000 due to its robust security features and reputation as a powerful visual and physical deterrent against potential thieves.
Rob Bradley, Owner of Bradley’s Master Locksmiths commented on the installation, “In our line of work, securing our tools and equipment is paramount. The MVP1000 provides us with the peace of mind that our valuable assets are protected, reducing the risk of theft and ensuring we can continue to serve our customers without interruption. We’re already looking at ways to add more security to our van fleet.”
The decision comes as figures obtained by Direct Line Insurance reveal a troubling increase in tool theft, with 207 reports in the county last year, compared to 171 in 2022. Nationally, nearly £100 million worth of equipment was stolen from tradespeople in 2023, with a tool-related theft reported every 12 minutes.
MVP1000’s installation is part of a broader initiative by Mul-T-Lock to provide effective solutions against the alarming rise in vehicle crime. James Dallas, editor of What Van? emphasised the severity of the issue, stating, "It's always been a problem, but I think it's a problem that is probably getting worse."
MVP1000, along with its counterpart the MVP2000, offers unparalleled security features designed to protect against the most determined thieves. These advanced security solutions not only serve as a strong physical barrier but also act as a significant visual deterrent, making any attempt at theft a daunting task.
Says Suresh Peri, Head of Commercial and Technical at Mul-T-Lock: “Mul-T-Lock UK is committed to providing innovative security solutions to protect tradespeople and their invaluable tools. The partnership with Bradley’s Master Locksmiths showcases the effectiveness of the MVP1000 in real-world applications and highlights the importance of taking proactive measures to combat vehicle crime.”
