Sasol is an international integrated energy and chemicals company. With 32,400 people working in 37 countries, the company develops and commercializes technologies, and has world-scale facilities that produce liquid fuels, chemicals and low-carbon electricity. Understandably, security and access control is not only mission critical, it is also highly regulated. With extensive security systems and procedures already in place, SASOL sought to gain better control of when delivery vehicles enter and exit their facilities so that they could monitor their movement as and when they exited the premises.
With WatchLock’s ability to notify SASOL’s security management in real time of each time and every time the WatchLock is opened and closed – thus allowing the entrance or exit of a delivery vehicle – SASOL is able to activate their satellite tracking system from the exact moment the vehicle exits the facility. “With WatchLock, the company has an additional layer of accountability, which serves as a deterrent to the risk of theft,” commented Roy Zadikov, WatchLock Product Manager, Mul-T-Lock. “It also helps maintain compliance as SASOL is able to more accurately track the movement of it heavily regulated goods.”
With the successful piloting WatchLock, SASOL will be deploying additional WatchLock’s throughout their various locations. SASOL’s innovative use of WatchLock exemplifies just how useful it can be and in new and different ways.
